I’m very pleased to announce that Simon Dymond (from Filmworks) and I have been awarded the Pears Short Film Fund 2013.
The pitch was to produce a short film written by Dave Herman called ‘Happy New Year’, Directed by Simon Dymond and produced by myself.
Two grants of £10,000 were available for the production of a short film – drama, animation or factual with a Jewish theme of significance to both Jewish and general audiences. The areas of relevance include interfaith, assimilation, integration, asylum seekers and issues that connect with Jewish life, history or cultures worldwide.
The judging panel is drawn from experienced professionals in the British film and television industry and the scheme is open to all filmmakers resident in the UK.
The films will premiere at the UK Jewish Film Festival 2013.
