A couple of weeks ago I took a trip down to the sunnier half of the country to check out the amazing National Film and Television School general open day. Being that it’s the most prestigious film school in the UK, and considered to be one of the best in the world, I was surprised to find how accessible and down to earth the whole institution is. Needless to say I was impressed by what I learned in my short time there, but it also made the whole idea of getting on there seem a lot more feasible. I’m going down again tomorrow to check out the directing fiction open day, armed with a notebook full of questions.
In regards to the project I was nurturing during Filmworks, I’ve decided to put it on the back seat for now. I developed it a little too much and it turned into an idea that was more suitable for a feature or longer short than a short short, which is something I don’t think would be worth it just yet. I’m writing something a little less high maintenance, and hope to shoot around May. I still love the old idea though. Watch this space!
